Esports and lifestyle organization FaZe Clan announced plans to extend its weekly creator-focused tournament series, FaZe Fridays, through 2024. To up the ante, FaZe Clan plans to award over $1 million in prizes through out the year.
The tournament series plans to build on the success of the first four FaZe Fridays, which ran from December 2023 to January 2024. Viewership for these tournaments surpassed 1.37 million hours watched.
“We started this new weekly tournament to just have fun and it’s really taken off,” said FaZe Swagg. “We look forward to putting together teams each week, competing in different titles with different groups and we’re honestly just having a blast. Love that the fans love it as much as we do!”
Going forward, FaZe Fridays plans to expand beyond Call of Duty Warzone and feature other trending titles such as Fortnite. The format will change weekly, but FaZe teased in-person tournaments sometime in 2024.

FaZe Fridays revenue potential
The company plans to leverage the FaZe Fridays audience to unlock a new revenue and sponsorship opportunities. Comcast’s Xfinty sponsored the first four tournament and will return as FaZe Fridays’ presenting sponsor. Unlike participating in official esports leagues, FaZe Clan will own all ad inventory for the tournaments.
“FaZe Fridays has given us an amazing platform to spotlight Xfinity as the network connecting FaZe Clan with some of the biggest gamers on the internet in this new go-to weekly gathering,” said Mark Cruz, senior director of brand partnerships at Comcast. “We’re thrilled for our brand and product to have this visibility and drive authentic conversation amongst one of the most difficult to reach, but most engaged audiences. We’re excited to build off the success of the first series of tournaments and supporting more FaZe Fridays in the future.”
Unlocking these revenue opportunities is critical for FaZe Clan and its parent company, GameSquare. The public holding company acquired FaZe Clan in October 2023 after FaZe failed to gain traction on the stock market. The deal provided GameSquare $16.5 million in cash to fill its working capital gap, but the company’s Q3 2023 earnings show the its cost of revenue is growing.
FaZe Fridays gives GameSquare a platform to sell larger sponsorship packages and feature emerging talent.
